The Beginning.

It was love at first sight. Well, not exactly. Our love story took seven years to develop. But good things take time. We met at Monterey High School during our freshman year in 2009. The stories differ (Gabby says Juan flirted by playfully nudging her in the hallways, Juan says Gabby flirted with him first) but the outcome remained the same. Fast friends turned into a long term friendship and a first date at Thai Pepper in Lubbock. The friendship turned into a relationship that spanned four cities, three years of long distance, and two different states. All the miles traveled and phone calls were worth it. We moved to Dallas together in the fall of 2021 and have been here ever since.

The Proposal.

One rainy day in Paris turned into a picturesque rooftop proposal at The Peninsula Hotel. The second leg of our 2023 European family trip included a stop in Paris. If you know anything about Gabby, you know that she’s a stickler for an itinerary. She had planned for an electric bike tour of the city that afternoon that was quickly derailed by a faked injury by her mother, Tiffany. Tiffany requested that she be taken back to the airbnb where Juan eventually told Gabby that they had a reservation at a restaurant that she did not want to miss. Again, if you know Gabby, she’s not missing a reservation for a night out. The proposal took place on a beautiful rooftop overlooking the entire city. Gabby’s family joined them soon after for a post-proposal dinner. It was an incredible experience and a memory that will last a lifetime. We feel so blessed that we get to share the next chapter of our story with our friends and family on December 14, 2024.
