Built for the 1974 World's Fair, this 100 acre park features the largest Urban Waterfall in the USA. Riverfront Park also hosts a variety of attractions, such as Spokane Pavilion, a one of a kind outdoor concert venue in the heart of downtown. Friday through Sunday they have a light show starting at 7:30pm PST. In 2020, National Geographic named the park as one of the most beautiful in the USA.
Manito Park is a 90 acre park featuring five gardens, a conservatory, a duck pond, and a cafe. In 2007, Manito's Rose Garden was voted the best rose garden in the USA. Visited by over 150,000 visitors each year, Manito's Lilac Garden is home to a rare new double pink species of Lilac fittingly named "Spokane". With over 23 additional species of Lilac in the garden as well, it's no surprise that Spokane's nickname is "Lilac City". Another must see is Manito's Japanese Garden that honors Spokane's longstanding relationship with Nishinomiya, Japan as sister cities since 1962. Manito also sports a dramatic European Renaissance style garden and a perennial garden.
The oldest winery in Spokane, Arbor Crest sits perched atop a dramatic basalt cliff overlooking Spokane. In 2021, Arbor Crest was named one of “50 Great Producers Every Wine Lover Should Know” by Wine Spectator. The 1924 Cliff House, a National Historic Site, serves as the tasting room for their their most highly acclaimed wines. In 2018, Wine Enthusiast rated their Dionysus Meritage red wine as Double Platinum.
The oldest brewery in Spokane, No-Li is named after the Northern Lights. Since 2020, No-Li has been the #1 International Award-Winning Brewery in the USA. In 2021 alone, No-Li received 58 international brewing medals that catapulted the brewery to be the #1 Craft Brewery in the World and the #1 Craft Brewery in Washington State.
The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC) was founded in 1916 and is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. The MAC specializes in art and regional history, including the lives of early pioneers and the area's indigenous peoples. Their collection of Indian art and artifacts is the largest in the world, with more than one million objects maintained and preserved. Additionally, museum admission also includes a self-guided tour of the nearby Campbell House. This mansion built in 1898 provides a firsthand experience of life in Spokane at the turn of the 20th century.
