Cincinnati Neighborhood Recommendations for Wedding Weekend

OTR (Over the Rhine) (downtown) = 3-5 mins from Cincinnati Club; This is the 'coolest' place to be in Cincinnati, the closest to the venue and has the most restaurants, bars and shops with cool atmospheres. It's the 'downtown Cincinnati' experience if you're looking to experience the heart of the city. There's Findlay Market, Washington Park and the Cincinnati Street Car that takes you to all the cool spots for free. BUT DO NOT rent a house without running the SPECIFIC street past either Gabrielle or Dan. Out of all the options listed here, this neighborhood is still 'up and coming' and while the majority of the area is safe to walk around, I would not walk around by myself and there are definitely streets you want to avoid. If you stick to the main area, you won't have any problems, but I still recommend a buddy system.

Mt. Adams = 6 mins from Cincinnati Club; Very nice and upscale historic neighborhood that overlooks Cincinnati with good restaurants; We haven't lived here, but wish we could! The neighborhood was built as a walkable neighborhood, so if you stay at any rental in Mt. Adams, you can walk to the different restaurants and spots. Mt. Adams has lots of cute restaurants and gorgeous overlooks of the city. It is VERY hilly! You will get a workout walking around. Also - parking spots are hard to come by. Some places do have spots, but most parking is on the street. There is parking, but you may have to park a street or two over from where you're staying based on how lucky you are at finding a spot. It is a safe area to walk around. You may want to consider taking an uber to the wedding so you don't have to worry about parking when you get home.

Oakley = 12 mins from Cincinnati Club; Dan and Gabs both lived and met in Oakley!; Oakley is a very trendy area that is safe and full of young professionals and people walking dogs (they actually have a pup crawl every year because of all the dogs); Lots of restaurants, Madtree brewing is a must, Aglamesis Bro's Ice Cream is one of Dan's favorites, The Oak is more of a dive bar - but they have the best wings Dan has ever had; Our first date was at Oakley Pub & Grill (OPG); Bike trail that connects to Mariemont and Loveland (mentioned below) also runs through Oakley now.

Hyde Park = 12 mins from Cincinnati Club; Dan and Gabs both lived here at different times; Hyde Park does have old, nice houses, but it's more spread out than the other neighborhoods on the list and the downtown area mainly has expensive boutiques with not many restaurants or shops we would recommend. Oakley is the same distance from downtown and has much more to do, BUT Oakley and Hyde Park are right next to each other. If you stay in Hyde Park, I would recommend hanging out in the Oakley area for restaurants and shopping.

Mariemont = 20 mins from Cincinnati Club; Where Gabs and Dan live!; Downtown Mariemont has restaurants and shops. You can easily park and walk around. Close to the bike trail and 50 West. Mariemont has more hiking/park areas than Loveland, but they are very similar.

Loveland = 30 mins from Cincinnati Club; Where Gabrielle grew up and where her Mom/Greg live!; Downtown Loveland is very similar to Mariemont with restaurants, cafe's, bakeries. There is also the Loveland Bike Trail (which extends down to Mariemont, the Loveland area has a ton of little food stands, restaurants, etc. around the bike trail), canoe rentals and even a castle.
