The beginning of our story starts with Gabrielle from Long Island and Kyle from Brooklyn deciding where they would be attending college. We both decided in 2013 to attend the University of New Haven in Connecticut. While we never had a class together, we did end up having mutual friends. Gab ended up transferring colleges, but always stayed in touch with her friends at UNH and would visit often. Seeing each other on campus, off campus at parties became a regular thing. We even went to Spring Break senior year together where we would share our locations for the first time and continue to till this day. While we were not dating as we were seeing other people at this time, we were always acquainted with each other.

After college in 2017, Kyle had moved in with his Mom in Connecticut, while Gab had moved back to Long Island. It wasn’t until the end of 2018 that Kyle would be accepted to the Nassau County Police Department after years of waiting for the call. This required him to move onto Long Island with his father. Being in a new place and having few friends to connect with, he remembered that Gab had been from Long Island. Kyle then did what he thought would be best…and slid into her DMs! Gab answered kindly and inducted him into her friend group. Over the next several months we would hang out every weekend we could, go to several sporting events and even take a few trips together. We would become best friends, even confiding in each other of romance advice. It was then one evening that Kyle had asked Gab to dinner at Swell Taco, with her accepting thinking it was a platonic friendly dinner. When Kyle received a phone call from his friend after eating (Shoutout to John Bachmann), he had stated “yeah I am on a date with Gab”. This would shock Gab as she had no idea this was even a date. From there on their relationship would begin to change as these dates continued, leading to us officially dating.

It was almost 3 years later when Kyle planned a beautiful 10 day trip to Italy for the both of us. On August 26th 2023, the 2nd night of the trip at the stunning Ristorante Torre Normanna overseeing the waters of the Amalfi Coast (Shown in our pictures), that he proposed. Gabrielle would eagerly say yes, and we would go on to celebrate our engagement. The next day he took Gab on a private boat ride around Capri, enjoying the sights celebrating our love. The following day while overly excited to continue the trip, Kyle would end up fracturing his ankle trying to a catch a train to Rome. This would not stop us though as we continued through Italy, working our way slowly towards Milan where the final surprise was awaiting for Gab. In Milan her Mom and Onnie would be waiting as they had flown to Italy to surprise her. This truly was the best 10 days of our lives.
