Our story starts back in November of 2021 in Manhattan, Kansas where we were both attending Kansas State University. When we first met, we both immediately felt a pull to one another and decided to go out on our first date. We got ice cream & got to know each other, and we immediately clicked. We went on another few dates but eventually decided that we should just stay friends.


We stayed very close friends afterwards, talked every day, and would periodically bump into each other. Every time we saw each other we both felt that same pull that we had felt earlier. Eventually Jaime moved out of her apartment and on to the same street that Gage lived on. They bumped into each other even more living so close, and Jaime gave Gage the nickname Hot Neighbor.


Around February of 2023 we decided to give it another go and started officially dating March 4th. Jaime had already accepted a position teaching in Manhattan, and Gage had a job in Kansas City, so we knew that a period of long distance was coming. There was a lot of driving back and forth to see each other, but we had already planned for Jaime to move to Kansas City in May when the school year ended.


We planned a trip to Boston in March. Jaime's dad passed away in 2015 and is buried in Rhode Island and she had never gotten to visit his headstone. Gage had already bought a ring at this point and had asked her mother for her blessing. He had always wanted to be able to ask her father for his blessing as well, so they visited his headstone where Gage paid his respects and got to ask for his daughters hand.


That was the only thing Gage was waiting on before he proposed. Later that day, Gage proposed to Jaime overlooking the Boston Harbor.


Later that spring, Jaime moved from Manhattan to Kansas City. Since then, we have been focused on planning our big day & building the best life we can!
