Gail and Gale were introduced at the Havana Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 11, 2021 by Gale's former girlfriend, and Gail's co-worker, Robin Walters Young. They briefly spoke, and Gail gave Gale her phone number. Neither knew what to say, so they each went on their way. Gale was getting ready to leave the Oktoberfest, and Stacy Smith told him he was not leaving. Gail, Gale, Stacy and a few others ended up hanging out till 2:00am. Later the next week, Gale called and asked Gail out for their first date on Saturday, September 18. They went to Applebee's and the rest is history!
