Q + A

Things to Consider

If you're here, it's because you're a planner. We appreciate that about you! The most pertinent details are listed below, but please feel free to reach out individually with any additional questions.

Is there an indoor alternative in case of rain?

Yes! Reception dinner will be served inside of the pavilion. If it rains, we can move the ceremony inside and guests can sit at their assigned tables

What is the dress code?

Please no bridal white and no pink. The wedding party will be dressed in dark teal and cream. We suggest wearing flats or wedges because the venue is mostly outdoor and landscaped lawn. We also encourage you to dress comfortably so that you can enjoy the games and dancing. Nice jeans, suits without a jacket, weather-appropriate dresses or skirt suits are welcome. Temperatures may range from about 65 - 80 degrees, so we suggest wearing layers.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes! There are paved and landscaped pathways throughout the venue, as well as ramps to allow all guests to get around comfortably.

Is there parking onsite?

Yes, quite a bit. Due to the size of the guest list, however, we suggest carpooling wherever possible. We will have use of the entire venue for the day.

Are there onsite sleeping accommodations?

No. All guests will need to stay in nearby hotels or rent an AirBnB. Suggestions for these locations are on the "Travel and Things to Do" tab

Will there be time for guests to take pictures with the bride and groom?

Yes, on a limited basis and after dinner. Bear in mind that there will be a photographer/videographer onsite to capture candids throughout the day

Do I need to plan for outdoor allergies?

Yes! This venue has livestock nearby and onsite. If you have any allergies to horsehair, hay, grasses, flowers, or cedar/juniper pollen, you will definitely want to take allergy medication before the ceremony.

Will there be restrooms (not port-a-potties) available for guests?

We will have men's, women's, and gender neutral restrooms available for guests. The venue is not equipped with changing tables but accommodations can be made for diaper changes in the bridal cottage or groom suite. I am happy to open the bridal cottage to any breastfeeding mothers who would prefer a private place for feeding. Please let me know in advance so we can create a designated area. If possible, we would prefer any diaper changes to take place in the parking lot if there is sufficient vehicle space to do so. If you have any concerns, please reach out to the bride and groom directly.

Will there be fireworks or shooting as part of the reception?

No. These are strictly prohibited by the venue. We don't mind getting loud... but not that loud.

Can I bring any weapons onsite?

Yes, guests who have the required legal licenses are welcome to bring weapons onsite. However, please be mindful that the guest list is very diverse and some guests may not be accustomed to seeing weapons at a formal event. Some guests will be carrying weapons in observance of their culture and we ask that everyone be respectful of differences in culture, religion, and opinion. The bride and groom will also exchange weapons as part of the reception. It should go without saying, but there will be zero tolerance for weapons discharge, threats, or improper use for any reason. Violators will immediately be escorted from the premises.

Are there accommodations for dietary restrictions?

Yes, mostly. In deference to the bride's allergies, we will not be serving avocado or eggplant. There will be vegetarian-friendly options available for the appetizer course, main course, and dessert. Only the salad course and one of the main courses are vegan-friendly. We are unable to accommodate gluten-free diets with any course.

If you have dietary restrictions that we are unable to accommodate, we enthusiastically encourage you to bring food/snacks for yourself. This is a Southern wedding. We want everyone to be fed!

How/where do I send my wedding gift?

We are asking guests to donate to our honeymoon instead of providing physical gifts. We are taking a 30-day trip around the world and would appreciate all the generous help we can get. On the "Our Honeymoon" tab of the website, you will be able to donate in one of two ways:

1.) Donate into an unspecified pool to cover ticket costs and incidentals

2.) Sponsor a specific excursion along our route

Guests who sponsor an excursion will receive a personalized photo and thank you note from us, taken from the site of the excursion!

Will the bride and groom leave for the honeymoon immediately?

No. The honeymoon is scheduled for October 2025 to allow time to raise money/prepare for the trip
