Garrett and Andrea first met back in 2015-2016, junior year of high school at a track meet. They had a double date which was driving around North Platte. Life happens and they went their separate ways for couple of years. Garrett went to college in Hastings fall of 2017 and join the marines in July of 2018. Andrea went to cosmetology school in August of 2018. God, work his miracle and they cross paths again back in October 2018. They got to know each other while Garrett was in California and Andrea was in Colorado. Their “first date” was in end of December 2018, which was meeting his parents and couple of his friends until late into the night. Garrett asked Andrea to be his girlfriend on January 1, 2019. Garrett had to go back to California the next day and Andrea had to go back to school. Andrea graduated in June 2019. She moved to Grand Island to be closer to Garrett in February 2020 while he was in college. They stay in Hastings until December of 2022 and moved to Wallace during that time. Fast forward to December 14, 2023. Garrett took Andrea to an Italian restaurant for a date night. Then, he took her on a carriage ride to look at the Christmas lights downtown of North Platte. They stop at this big Christmas tree so they can get a picture together. Little did Andrea know that Garrett was getting down on one knee during that time. He asked her to be his wife that night.
