It all started in the kitchen at Ron’s Pizza in Bellefontaine, where a couple of high school kids bonded over pizza orders, dish duty, and probably too many pepperoni's. Garrett and Kayla went from having secret crushes on each other to close friends, and before long, something more started to sparked between them.

Their first official date was a small-town classic: a stop at Whit’s Frozen Custard. It was simple, sweet, and just a little awkward in the best way—two teenagers figuring each other out over custard with the occasional drive-by of Ron's regulars. That night marked the beginning of something real, and looking back, it’s clear it was the start of forever.

Years later, on September 20th, 2025, Garrett popped the question at the Grotto Gardens. The setting was romantic… minus one little twist: a crowd of high schoolers had gathered nearby for homecoming photos. So, with shaky knees and a full audience, Garrett asked Kayla to marry him—and despite the surprise crowd, she said yes!
