Sean and Gemma were introduced by Sean’s cousin and Gemma’s coworker, Peter Castellano. He must have thought they would make a good match, and clearly he was right.

As with most couples, it started off with texting. Their first date was initiated by Gemma (and if you know Gemma, this was a rarity). The date took place at a Starbucks during the pandemic. With no tables or chairs to sit down inside, they proceeded to walk around the side streets of Massapequa for hours getting to know each other a little better.

It’s safe to say they both realized this was going to be something more than a few simple dates. Gemma loved Sean’s sense of humor; she never met anyone who made her laugh the way he did. She loved his generosity, his smile, and of course his handsome looks. Sean was struck by Gemma's ocean blue eyes, her remarkable positivity, and her knack for laughing at all of his jokes and remarks (even the ones that weren't his best). They started officially dating in April 2021, and from there the rest is history. Sean proposed to the love of his life on October 20th, 2023 at Dario's - a restaurant with a long history in the McCartin family - and soon after the wedding date was set.
