Alex and Gen met in their Psychology 101 class at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Fall 2014. They became friends, attended many formals as each others plus one, and have been together ever since. Specifically, Alex asked Gen to be his girlfriend on September 29, 2015- did you notice their wedding is on the same weekend as their 9th anniversary as a couple? Throughout the years, Gen has cheered Alex on as he graduated, worked in project management, and began his dream career as a firefighter. Alex basically attended law school with Gen, and has supported her as she has navigated her career as a divorce attorney. Following their 7th anniversary, Alex planned a scavenger hunt that led to his surprise proposal on November 6, 2022. They are two peas in a pod- sorry, three peas when you include their pup, Lola.
