If you ask Gen: Our love story began on November 7th, 2020 when I decided to attend my first Sigma Chi Fraternity Party. I saw Zac out of the corner of my eye, and sparks flew. It truly was love at first sight. I walked right up to him and we began to hit it off almost instantaneously. From that moment on, he was all I could think about. About 3 months later, after many dates and my continuous nagging, Zac finally asked me to be his girlfriend on January 28th, 2021. Every single day after that I continued to fall hopelessly head over heels for him. He showed me how to love and how to be loved. If you ask me to remember the exact moment I knew that I was going to marry him, I would tell you that it was a day in May of 2021. My younger sisters were about 8 at the time and had asked us to take them to the grocery store to get some cookies. When we got out of the car I told them that they needed to hold my hands while we crossed the street. Agatha looked up at me, grinned, and ran right over to Zac. She grabbed his hand and didn't let go until we were out of the store and back in the car. That was the moment I knew that I was never going to let this boy go. In 2022, our love story continued to grow when we adopted our fur baby, Miss Mabel Mae. At first, Zac told me he wasn't a cat person and probably would not like the cat that I had picked up. The first night I brought her home, he slept the whole night with her curled up on his chest and is now completely wrapped around her paw. On August 16th, 2024 I made the easiest and happiest decision of my entire life. Zac and I had taken a trip to Destin, Florida. He had woken me up at 6 am (which was not an easy task to accomplish), and took me to the beach to watch the sunrise. One minute we were walking on the beach, the next minute he was down on one knee asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. I have never said "yes" to a question so quickly. He is the best thing that has ever been mine. I continue to fall in love with him every single day when he shows how big and all-encompassing his heart is. The way he loves my sisters, his nieces and nephews, and our Miss Mabel just continues to strengthen my love for him. If it weren't for Sigma Chi and that fraternity party, I never would've found my happily ever after with the man of my dreams. If you ask Zac: The day I met Genevieve, was the day after my 19th birthday and the night after my initiation into Sigma Chi. I remember the energy of the night being euphoric, but nothing captured my attention like seeing her across the room. It was as if the entire crowd faded away, and there she was - confident, radiant, and magnetic. I immediately knew there was something different about her, something special I couldn't quite put into words. Before I had a chance to gather myself, she came right up to me with that same confidence, and we started talking. What struck me almost instantly wasn't just how beautiful she is, but how easy it felt to be around her. In just a few minutes, I knew this was someone who could change my life. Little did I know then, that first conversation would be the beginning of everything. Soon after, I asked her on our first date. Then our second. Then our third. Every time we were together, it felt effortless, like we’d known each other far longer than we actually had. Each date deepened our connection, and before I knew it, I found myself counting the hours until I could see her again. What started with simple dinners and walks turned into late-night talks about our dreams, our families, and the kind of life we wanted to build. Gen has this incredible way of making even the most ordinary moments feel special, and with every new experience, I realized that I didn’t just want her in my life—I needed her in it. After we graduated and moved in together, we decided to plan a trip to the beach. I saw this as the perfect opportunity to ask her to marry me. I wanted the moment to be as unforgettable as she is, so I began planning, making sure every detail was just right. I thought about the beach, the sunrise, and how perfect it would be to ask her in a place that reflected the calm and beauty she’s brought into my life. As we walked along the shoreline that morning, with the sun rising above the horizon, I could feel my heart racing. We stopped for a moment to admire the view, and that’s when I turned to her, heart pounding, and asked the question I’d been waiting so long to ask. The look in her eyes in that moment, the pure joy and love, was everything I had hoped for. She said yes, and as we stood there on the beach, the world around us faded away once again—just like it did the night we met. It was only her, only us, and it felt like the beginning of another incredible chapter in our story. As we look forward to our wedding day and the future beyond, I can't help but feel grateful for every moment that brought us here. From that first conversation to the countless adventures, small joys, and big milestones, being with Gen has been the greatest journey of my life. We’ve grown together, laughed together, and dreamed of everything that’s yet to come. I’m beyond excited to continue building our life as husband and wife, and I know that with her by my side, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish. This is just the beginning of forever.
