Our Wedding

It was the fall of 2015 at the University of Pittsburgh when sophomores Genny and Brian met for the first time during a club water polo scrimmage. They were playing on opposite teams and Genny quickly found herself having to both stop Brian from scoring while also trying to score on him. You could view this as fate. Instead, Genny just learned she did not stand a chance against Brian in the pool, and she avoided playing against him again at all costs. Even though she feared Brian’s water polo skills and strength in the pool, Genny went home to her roommates after practice that night, telling them that she met a boy who had the most beautiful blue eyes. As a side note – Genny’s roommates would be the first to tell you about how she’s a hopeless romantic at heart and how they dismissed Genny as a result, laughing along thinking “here we go again”. It was only a few weeks later when Genny and Brian ran into each other again at a college party (shoutout Semple Place!) and really hit it off. Genny immediately began telling her friends that this boy was going to fall in love with her –little did she know how true this would be. Brian being the analytical engineer that he is took the time to really get to know the hopeless romantic Genny before asking her to be his girlfriend in March of 2017. After six and a half years of humor, travel, good eats, new experiences, and lots of love, Brian popped the question and asked Genny to marry him by bending down to “tie his shoe” (ya gotta love him) at one of their favorite places, Point Park State Fountain &lt;333 Since they’ve been dating, Genny and Brian have called 3 different places home, traveled to 36 states and 4 countries together, continuously obsess over their most perfect and adorable angel cat Theo, and are always trying out new recipes (especially Bob’s Burger recipes, if you know you know). Most recently and notably, they both quit their Pittsburgh jobs in July 2024 and took a cross-country road trip to officially move to Seattle, WA for a new adventure! Now they can’t wait to make their love ~legal~ by throwing a kick-ass party with all their friends and family!!

Hello and welcome!We’ve reserved a room block at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh, located just across the river from our reception venue—about a 1.5-mile drive. If you have any trouble with the booking link, please reach out to Genny or Brian.

Guest Shuttle Information

We’re providing a shuttle to help everyone get between the ceremony, hotel, and reception. The shuttle seats 33 guests per trip, so please keep in mind it’s a smaller shuttle (not a big coach bus). If one fills up, no worries—another will be right behind it! Please note that transportation to the ceremony is not provided. More shuttle details are listed below:

After the Ceremony

3:30 PM – Pickup at Heinz Memorial Chapel (S. Bellefield Ave), drop-off at Wyndham Grand Hotel (Downtown Pittsburgh)4:30 PM – Pickup outside Cathedral of Learning in Oakland (Bigelow Blvd between Fifth Ave and Forbes Ave, very close to the Heinz Chapel!), drop-off at Wyndham Grand Hotel&nbsp;Note: Shuttles will only bring guests back from the ceremony site — there will not be a shuttle to the chapel beforehand.

Getting to the Reception Venue

5:00 PM – Shuttle departs Wyndham Grand Hotel for the Science Center5:25 PM – Second shuttle departs Wyndham Grand Hotel for the Science Center5:50 PM – Final shuttle departs Wyndham Grand Hotel for the Science Center

After the Reception

A must see/ can't miss! This is the iconic "Cathy" that all Pitt students know and love. They have various nationality rooms that are worth checking out. Genny had majority of her college classes in this building as a communications major, whereas Brian spent most of his time in the Benedum engineering Hall.

While campus has changed a lot over the years, there are many great bars, restaurants, and sights to see in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh! Some of our favorite spots: - Hemingway’s Cafe- The Porch at Schenley- Bootleggers- Mario's Oakland Saloon

Explore quintessential Pittsburgh by stopping by the Strip District on Saturday or Sunday morning, the site of many local businesses and great shopping!

The Strip District

Stop by to take in the beautiful views of Pittsburgh! Enjoy a historic form of transportation down to the river or up to Mount Washington. You can also drive up to the Mount Washington Overlook if you don't want to take the incline.

Monongahela Incline

This is where Brian proposed! The fountain&nbsp;is another iconic Pittsburgh landmark that we loved biking to while we still lived in Pittsburgh. It's where the three rivers (Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio) all meet. This is about a half mile walk from the Wyndham Grand Hotel.

A green oasis in the middle of Pittsburgh’s vibrant Oakland neighborhood! Explore the beauty and wonders of nature at Phipps, encompassing 15 acres including a 14-room glasshouse and 23 distinct gardens.
