Garrett's POV: The first night we met.

It all started at a little upscale taco restaurant called Torchy's in San Antonio. I had gone with some friends from work to watch Black Widow that evening. After the movie ended, all of us being hungry and one of us being extremely intoxicated (not me, but this is important for later), we decided to get tacos. Once we were seated and had ordered food, our conversation about Scarlett Johansson was abruptly derailed when I looked up as Genique walked in. In an instant, my type went from redheads to blondes and I knew I wanted to sit next to this girl and share my tacos. She was with a friend, a tall dark dusky Columbian girl who desperately needed advice on how to deal with the young man causing trouble for her (they got married later on). Despite the distraction, I couldn't keep my eyes....or my hands off Genique. She was so easy to talk to...when I had an opportunity to get more than a couple words out. I felt so comfortable and at ease with Genique. I knew she was different, and a year later after our first vacation together and LOTS of taco dates, I knew she was pretty cool too. I knew I liked her, so I put the promise ring on her. Fast forward another year or so, and we both somehow knew that we didn't just like each other, we LOVED each other! So, I put the engagement ring on her and now here we are! We are all taco'd out but we could never get taco'd out of each other! I would like to thank the third friend in my original group for taking care of the drunk one and allowing me to scoot over to Genique and fall so helplessly in love with her (slowly....very slowly....) Genique and I are now living together in Washington, planning our wedding ceremony in South Africa, and having the time of our lives everywhere in between! All the days since 13 August, 2021 have truly been the best of my life!
