It all started with a text that led to a mostly blind date. Thanks to the great matchmaking skills of Geoff’s mom and Clara’s coworker, Danielle, who knew Geoff as the friendly neighbor boy next door, Geoff got Clara’s number. Eventually, Geoff decided to send the first text. They texted back and forth for a couple days before agreeing to a first date on June 22nd, 2023. Their simple coffee date, quickly got longer as they walked around downtown Longmont. Geoff didn’t want the date to end and asked Clara if she felt spontaneous, to which she replied, “I don’t know, maybe..?” He easily convinced her to try out the pottery painting store, where they spent more time talking and getting to know each other.

This made for an easy excuse to go on a second date and pick up the mugs they painted. They continued talking and getting to know each other over the next month. As they got to know each other, they began to realize that their friendship was something special. After a couple more dates and a few group hangouts they decided to make their relationship official on July 21st, 2023.

Through their months of dating, they spent lots of time together doing things they both love and trying out each other’s hobbies. From reading and doing puzzles to fishing and welding, they both not only started liking new things but fell in love with each other. With praying daily and attending Sunday Mass together, they both grew closer to one another and closer to the Lord, always making sure God is first in their relationship.

Before finally getting down on one knee and popping the question, Geoff asked Clara many many many times, “Can we get married, yet?” To which Clara originally answered, “Not yet,” then “Soon,” then “Sure, but you have some things to do before we can.” Geoff got everything in order for the actual proposal on June 6, 2024, when he knelt down at sunset before the drive-in movie started and asked Clara “Is it cute?” before asking her the more important question “Will you marry me?” To which she obviously replied, “Yes!”

Our love story has only just begun and we can’t wait for a lifetime of more stories shared with each other. We are excited for the next step of our journey together where we will celebrate our love and commitment to each other with our family and friends. We truly believe the Lord is leading us into a beautiful life together as husband and wife as we continue journeying to Heaven while making beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
