Love & Light

Picture of Love & Light

I owe the credit of meeting Diana to several people. It's funny how we are all connected in this life and we all play a part in someone's story, whether we realize it or not. So, I want to say thank-you to all of my friends who are truly with me in this journey called life. With sincere love & appreciation for you!

I met Diana during my 1st trip to Ghana, Africa. Originally, I had planned to visit Ghana with my good friend from college, Raina Turner, along with her family during the Christmas holidays. Unfortunately, the family trip was cancelled due to the pandemic. So, I decided to go alone.

Another good friend, Marwan Mograbi, deserves mention because it was he, who extended his family's home where I lived for 3 months in Ghana. I met Marwan when I moved to Los Angeles in 2004. He taught me to play the Djembe Drum on Venice Beach, and he would always drop little gems about life in Ghana. So, I felt like my Ghana trip was long over due. The love & kindness I received from Marwan's family & friends really touched my heart and soul. I am eternally grateful for the bonds of trust I built with his circle in a very short amount of time, including; his mother a retired Government Attorney, his brother a Government Diplomat and his family friend Daniel Enti, his wife & children, who also lived on the same compound in the house next to me. It was Daniel who made the introduction to Diana. They are long time friends. Daniel is also a brilliant man with a wealth of knowledge about everything.

Prior to the pandemic, Diana worked in the Pharmacy industry as a certified drug specialist. Unfortunately, the pandemic shut down her company's stores. In response, Diana quickly became an entrepreneur, buying fruits and vegetables wholesale at the city market, and selling them for a profit in front of her family's home. She later expanded her business and diversified her product suite, doubling her income. This lady is obviously intelligent and driven and beautiful, so I was immediately knocked off my feet.

How we met: One day, I rode to work with Daniel Antwi. On our way home, we stopped by Diana's fruit stand to buy his wife's vegetables for dinner. I took one look at Diana, and said WOW!

Within seconds, my window was rolled down and half of my entire body was outside of the car to say hello to this beautiful woman. She was kind, warm and her accent was lovely.

The next day, I got up early to WALK to her business to buy breakfast fruit.. She saw me coming and immediately smiled. Before I realized it, I had been there for 5 hours chatting with she and her customers.

This happened EVERYDAY for more than a week, before we went out on our first date. Prior to our date, I was able to witness profound respect for her by the community, experience her wonderful sense of humor, learn that she is a tough negotiator that always seems to win...and fully understand that her memory is like an elephant. Before I knew it, we were connected mentally and spiritually before any physical manifestation.

Diana showed me the difference between Love and mature Love. We are honest with each other. We communicate very effectively. We are mutually vulnerable and spiritually intimate. We are instinctively willing to make sacrifices for each other. And, what I like most about our bond is that she treats me better than I treat myself. It is the most profound experience I have ever had. Diana is my true life partner, as I am hers..
