Our Story is not one you would normally expect....
George and I met when our worlds seemed far apart and a little broken. We both were healing from painful, long, past relationships...I wasn't looking to be in another relationship and just wanted to know what it was like to be by myself, and most of all love myself before finding someone to love again. George on the other hand, was enjoying being single and with all the freedoms that came with it. But somewhere inside, I believe he was waiting for someone to love and help him heal.
After a time, we both had the same thought....Maybe it was time to meet people and join Tinder! If you don't know what this is, at the time it was a popular dating app for young people. We had swiped right on one another and next thing we knew it was a Match! Our first date, was at the $3 dollar movie theater and we watched an action movie. Where we had our First Kiss! We had instant chemistry and connection!
Moving forward, we met different times and had different dates. Where our connection grew! But I couldn't tell if he wanted to just hangout with me, or wanted to be with me. As each day went by, I lost hope that he was not going to ask me to be his girlfriend...Then the holidays had come and he finally asked me on November 24th, 2018!
After that, we were pretty much together always. We have loved each other for every year we have been together, for over 5 years! We always made time to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and birthdays together! He took the time to meet my parents, my sisters, my dads and moms families! We went on vacations together, to the beach, camping, and traveling to new places in Washington and Oregon.
I got to meet his parents and brother, and they liked me so much, they let us live together while we were both working, and while I was schooling. This helped because I worked two jobs, went to school, and we only got to see each other when we both had a little free time.
We got through a lot of trials together....a COVID pandemic, transitions with jobs, losing grandparents, and figuring out where the future was headed for us.
And for the future, we were excited to finally move out and get into an apartment together! This was such a blessing as it helped us to be more independent as young adults and see what it would be like to live together! And so far everything has been great! We live with my twin sister and brother in law, and it has been good building great connections between each other! Could not have asked for better Roomies!
This was not the only exciting event to happen to us! George had surprised me with a trip to Leavensworth and surprised me by PROPOSING!!!!! My heart melted and literally burst into tears as he went down on one knee and asked me to be his Happily Ever After!
Afterwards, all that was left to do was plan for our Fairytale Wedding!
