What is a Cèilidh?
Originally the word Cèilidh (kay-lee) descended from the Gaelic word for ‘gathering’ or ‘party’… However, these days when people think of a Cèilidh, they think of a fun filled night of wild dancing, good music and great company! As for the rest: they all mean pretty much the same!
The beauty of a Cèilidh or Barn Dance is that everyone can take part, young or old, experienced dancers to beginners and even those with two left feet!
Is it and indoor or outdoor event?
For the most part it will be indoor but there is a beautiful courtyard and lawn. Weather permitting there will be outdoor photos and a few garden games.
What about food?
For the wedding breakfast, our venue uses a set menu so all guests will be served the same unless you opt for vegetarian or vegan meals. (Dietary requirements can be accounted for).
Evening food will be a buffet, there will be vegan and vegetarian options proportional to the number of people stating vegan or vegetarian on rsvp.
There will be no nuts in the wedding cake.
Can I wear black?
The tradional wedding attire rules apply, so, provided you couldnt wear your outfit to attend a funeral or wear a dress which may resemble a wedding dress you will be fine!
will I be in any of the photos
Yes! Evening guests will be in a photo provided they are willing and arrive on time for the afternoon photoshoot! And we would very much like it if you are :)
