“I first met Gianna during my freshman year of high school, and I remember being ecstatic to finally have a friend who lived less than ten minutes from me! At a Catholic school, it wasn’t unusual for your closest friends to live forty-five minutes away, so having her so close felt like winning the lottery. I think back to those summers spent lying by her pool and visiting her at her very cool job at the mall.
Gianna was—and continues to be—the friend you can always count on. In the blink of an eye, we went from fourteen-year-old girls splashing in her pool to drinking a little too much together during our college summers, and now here we are, young adults talking about weddings and careers. If anyone understands the long hours spent on the road, it’s Gianna. I don’t know what I’d do without my fellow road warrior and childhood friend.
Gianna is one of those “forever” people. I know that throughout my entire life, she’ll be there for me, and I’ll be there for her. She gets my love for Hamilton, my stomach problems, and my anxiety. To know Gianna is truly to love her, and I’m so lucky God put her in my life.
