Derrick and Gianna met in 2020 during their Sophomore year of College at Northern Illinois University. They met at a small get together in the fall and spent the night laughing and playing games. After spending time getting to know each other through study sessions and chipotle lunch dates, the two began dating in February of 2021.

Since they began dating, Derrick and Gianna graduated from Northern Illinois University together and started their next chapter of life. One of their favorite things to do is visit new places together, especially new states. The two got engaged in June of 2023 while attending the concert of one of their favorite country artists, Morgan Wallen, located at one of Derrick's favorite places, Wrigley Field. They are excited to see what the future holds!
