Gianna and Nicholas met as little kids watching their older sisters, Cortina and Lauren play volleyball. As the two grew older and entered middle school, they grew to become best friends. Nicholas worked up the courage one day to ask Gianna to be his girlfriend to which she responded, "can I think about it?" Gianna was nervous as she had never had a boyfriend before, and she didn't want to ruin their friendship. A week went by, and Gianna was cornered in the hallway by friends Anthony and Tristen, who urged her to finally give Nick an answer. Gianna agreed and said yes to being Nicks' girlfriend, but she told him that the second things got awkward that she would end it because she cherished his friendship too much. As middle school relationships go... of course things got awkward. Gianna later broke Nicks heart by ending the relationship because he wasn't talking to her anymore. The two gave love a second try in the eighth grade and once again ... awkwardness.Middle school came to a close and Gianna left for her freshman year at an all-girls catholic school and the two fell out of contact. Gianna felt that there was a hole in her life being away from Nicholas and left as soon as she could in late October of her sophomore year. Gianna thus made Nicks day when he saw her walking down the halls on her first day back. The two sparked up conversation again asking one another about each other's basketball schedules as if they didn't have access to check it themselves. Nick one day finally sucked up the courage to ask Gianna to hangout, and to his dismay Gianna invited him to her house where her whole family was waiting. He nearly pooped his pants in fear when he arrived, as her dad was hanging out in the driveway. Again, Nick mustered up the courage to ask Gianna for a third and final time to be his girlfriend to which she responded, "I thought I already was?" After 7 grueling years of long distance the two finally get to live out their dreams of being together. This is the story that brings us together today. The story of Gianna Florez and Nicholas Strezenec.
