Gideon and I had our first date at Lake Junaluska on July 16, 2022. We walked around the lake, stopped for ice cream, and sat in rocking chairs talking for two hours. Due to sickness and vacation time, we didnt see each other again for three weeks. Although we were both hesitant due to the distance, we had a second date, a third date, a fourth…
Living so far apart did have its trials, but we never looked back, overcoming any obstacles the best we could. We’ve hiked in many places, gone rafting, attended church, gone to the beach, spent holidays together, and so much more. So many adventures that we will cherish forever. With God’s guidance, we knew we belonged together.
On July 23rd, 2023, Gideon drove me up to the old homestead in Cherokee. There on the river he proposed.
Our journey has been nothing short of God’s timing, love, and grace. We are forever grateful for our family and friends that have surrounded us with love. We are excited to begin this new chapter in our lives as husband and wife.
