On June 1st, 2017 at 7:30pm, Lachlan Hall walked into the Exford Pub in Melbourne to see some comedy. The show that night was "Gillian English is a Bitter Shrew".

During the show, Gill asked the rhetorical question "Where do I find a normal guy?" Lachie, looking around the room, then pointing to himself, answered "I'm right here!", and the rest, as they say is history!
