Visit Pennsylvania's Capitol building, often ranked as one of the most beautiful state Capitol buildings in the country.


Formal tours of the Capitol run every 30 minutes M-F from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. You are encouraged to book a tour in advance, but not required.


You don't have to take a tour, though. You can wander about on your own, and even visit Gillian's desk just off the Main Rotunda! (She definitely won't be there.)


The Capitol is about a 15-minute drive from the hotels.

Riverfront Park

Take a waterfront walk along the Susquehanna River. Pictures hardly do this thoroughfare justice, and it will be perfect this time of year. Extra credit if you spot the tiny Statue of Liberty standing in the river!

The Harrisburg Senators minor league baseball team plays at home on Friday, 4/24 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, 4/26 at 1 p.m. against the Altoona Curve. Tickets start at $18. Go see the Washington Nationals' AA minor league team play on City Island, a true hidden gem!

Get a beautiful southcentral Pennsylvania hike in while you're in town. Detweiler Park is close by to our venue and hotels, only about a 10-minute drive away. The park offers 7 miles of trails, split into smaller 1-2 mile loops.

Harrisburg's local Farmer's Market that is open W/Thurs/F/Sat from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with indoor and outdoor options to peruse. The main building burned down last year, but is temporarily being replaced by an outdoor tent, in addition to its Stone Building also on the property.

Susquehanna Art Museum

The Susquehanna Art Museum is open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children under 16. Free parking is available behind the museum. This is about a 10-minute drive from the hotels.

State Museum of PA

Catch the Pennsylvania State Museum before it closes for three years for a major remodel. The State Museum tells the story of Pennsylvania's history, from the Native American cultures that first cared for the land, the state's founding by William Penn to its modern history.


The Museum is open Wednesday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4:30.
