In May 2018, Gillian attended a happy hour with her team at work, where a highly professional conversation with a colleague led to a discussion about the finance department... and how good looking the men on the team were. Her colleague had mentioned that she was going to a finance team happy hour the following night and extended an invite to come.

Slightly hungover the next day and ready for the weekend, Gill declined the invite to join and wished her colleague a good time. At 5:00pm, her colleague asked one final time if she wanted to join and at the last second, Gill agreed to stop by for a drink. When she walked in, she saw those men sitting at a secluded table, and noticed that one in particular stood out. As the night progressed, Gillian had realized that every. single. person on the team had introduced themselves, except for one. As she found herself caught in a conversation that she couldn't escape, she heard a deep voice behind her interrupt to 'relieve' her from the encounter. Excited to see who it was, she looked up and was met with a wet, beer coated handshake followed by, "Hi, I'm Scott."

Gillian knew that night that Scott was someone special, but in true Scott fashion, he took a little time to come around. The next few (7) months were spent forming a friendship and getting to know each other, taking countless coffee breaks together, going on notoriously long dates and going to a J.Cole concert, which 5 years later, is still one of their favorite and most memorable nights together.

On August 26, 2023, Scott persuaded Gillian to take a detour through their favorite neighborhood park on the way to lunch with his siblings. After many attempts to pop the question through Gill's shrieks and tears, he was able to do so and she finally said yes.

With so much love and excitement, they cannot wait to celebrate their special day with the ones that mean the most to them!
