It all started in Shoal Lake 40 in 2018 where Gill spotted the yellow socks and immediately was in love. It is important to note that at this time she had seen nothing other than Kyle’s yellow socks and his stick handling abilities.

From that moment forward, Gilly was determined to find out the name of the man with the yellow socks. Her friend Shania went to the game roster sheet and in that moment, Gilly learned that the man in the yellow socks was the famous Nascar driver, Kyle Busch.

For months Gilly started watching Nascar and searching for the cute Kyle Busch. To no avail he couldn’t be found until one of her close friends, who was looking for love on Tinder in Dryden at a hockey tournament, happened to spot the mysterious Kyle Busch and his cute puppy Miller. Gilly was with her friend at the time and immediately decided the only thing to do was to download Tinder herself and the search for Kyle Busch began.

In good old Kenora fashion, Gilly’s auntie happened to be renting to our mysterious man, Kyle Busch. Talk about a coincidence! From this, a strange discovery occurred, who we once thought was a famous Nascar driver happened to actually be Kyle Booth, a good looking southern Ontario man who had moved to Northwestern Ontario to work as a paramedic.

Through online stalking abilities, tinder matches, local tourneys and rental agreements, Kyle finally learned who Gilly was and love began to brew. Very quickly, Gilly and Kyle were all in.

Fast forward a couple of years, Kyle told Gilly’s friends one summer that as soon as she was done school he would pop the question. Gilly finished school, and Kyle took his sweet time with the proposal. If you know Kyle, you know he loves a good deal. In Kyle fashion he went ring shopping in November to get those Black Friday deals! Kyle knew that he couldn’t leave the ring at the house because Gilly is the ultimate snooper. So instead, he asked her cousin Erika to keep it at her house for the time being. Little did Erika know that she would be sitting on this secret for 9 months. Kyle intended to propose at the beginning of summer, but like Kyle’s friends say he is truly a golden retriever and is easily distracted and before he knew it was now the end of summer and the Saturday before Gilly’s birthday, and days before Gilly had to go back to work. Kyle texted Gilly’s cousins, Erika and Jenee, to come up with a plan to propose on Gilly’s birthday. Gilly may or may not have known that the proposal was coming, as she was dressed and had her nails done for the occasion.

Within the 6 years of Gilly and Kyle’s relationship, Gilly finally finished her schooling to be a teacher, they have successfully bought a house, got Miller a sister named Brandy, play together on the same broomball team, and are ready for the next chapter of their lives!
