Our Wedding

Our story began in May 2021 when we met online.Preston had to try several times, but finally Gina agreed to meet in person for a first date. After margaritas by the pool and much conversation, we both decided we wanted to spend more time together. The two of us spent that whole summer adventuring on the lakes, rivers, and hiking trails of central Texas. We quickly fell in love and started planning a life together. The two of us spent the next year and a half growing our love for each other, and this past December Preston took Gina to a Christmas festival to “look at the lights and decorations.” While taking pictures Preston got down on one knee and asked Gina to marry him. She made him the happiest person in the world when she said yes! Now we are planning our dream wedding and look forward to celebrating our love with you all on January 6th.

Gruene Hall, built in 1878, is Texas’ oldest continually operating and most famous dance hall. By design, not much has physically changed since the Hall was first built. The 6,000 square foot dance hall with a high pitched tin roof still has the original layout with side flaps for open air dancing, a bar in the front, a small lighted stage in the back and a huge outdoor garden. Advertisement signs from the 1930s and 40s still hang in the old hall and around the stage.

Franklin Houser is the founder of Dry Comal Creek Vineyards. He purchased the property as a country family get away in the 1970's. When he retired from his law practice in the 1990's, he decided to turn his wine hobby into a business. In 2017, Mr. Houser was ready to retire from the wine business, and sold the vineyard to the Romero Family from Ft. Worth.Ralph Romero Sr. and his family quickly fell in love with the vineyard. Ralph was a first generation Mexican immigrant, and spent his summers on a family fruit farm learning English. His grandfather insisted he immigrate and live the "American dream." Purchasing the vineyard, and his beloved cows was just the whipped cream topping. Unfortunately, Ralph passed in January of 2021. The Romero Family continue to honor Ralph's legacy as a proud Texan. Dry Comal Creek is proud of our 100% Texas Grapes, and 100% Texas Wine.Seth Urbanek is our wine maker extraordinaire! He comes to us with a wealth of knowledge from Cornell, France, Australia, and the Finger Lakes. Seth is on the forefront of the exploding Texas Wine Culture. He has built great relationships with the best grape growers in our state, and that relationship shines through in our wines. Seth continues to dazzle us with new varietals and blends.

Dry Comal Creek Vineyards

The Natural Bridge Caverns are the largest known commercial caverns in the U.S. state of Texas. The name is derived from the 60 ft natural limestone slab bridge that spans the amphitheater setting of the cavern's entrance. The span was left suspended when a sinkhole collapsed below it.

Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch is an "African Safari, Texas-Style." The ranch is a Texas Land Heritage Property, recognized and certified by the State of Texas for being used for agriculture by the same family for over 100 years.
