Here are some ideas of things to add into your trip! Contact us at any time if you want some help planning/further recommendations!
Keep your eye out for upcoming concerts and events! We definitely feel that a concert at red Rocks is an amazing experience and would recommend it!
If you aren't up for the concerts, they usually do morning yoga sessions in the summer.
Or, feel free to just take a walk around. Trading post trail is a short 1.5 mile loop that is easy with great views of the foothills and the red rock formations!
Located in Estes Park, only about an hour and a half from Denver, RMNP offers hiking trails for all levels.
Just be sure to check if you need a timed reservation online.
Also, be sure to check out the Bustang (operated by CDOT) if you can't get a timed reservation, or just don't feel like driving!
This is a coach bus that takes you to the central transit Park n Ride in RMNP, the central hub for shuttles that can take you to various trailheads within the park at no cost.
It can also drop you off at the visitor center in Estes Park, if you don't want to enter RMNP. Estes Park has a free shuttle system at the visitor center to help you navigate your way around town. Its a great town to enjoy. If this is something you're interested in, please contact Gina (she made a whole travel guide for this last year)! And yes, these buses have wifi and bathrooms!
If you are feeling up for a drive, Glenwood Springs is a cute little western-feel town that has amazing natural hot springs.
Catching a Rockies game is one of our favorite things to do!
They are inexpensive and a great time! Be sure to stop by Jackson's or McGregor Square for a drink or two before heading in for the game!
This is a very special recommendation because its where we got engaged!
Chatfield State Park has a beautiful lake and pond. Hang out on the shore, and head over to the Gravel Pond and rent a paddle board!
You can also find camping here, both tent and Rv hookup sites.
Take a stroll through some beautiful red rock formations at Roxborough.
FYI this can get really hot in the summer, and beware of rattle snakes!
Big fan of Coors or Coors products?
Catch a tour, get a free brew and a free glass.
A fun favorite for us to take "out-of-towners".
Enjoy a fun "serve yourself" style tap house with local eateries. Sit on the rooftop and enjoy views of the Coors brewery and North/South table mountains, or site down below and enjoy the sound of Clear Creek.
Also take the time to enjoy the city of Golden. It has a lot of cute shops, eateries, and a ton of history!
The Denver Zoo is an awesome place to visit! Enjoy a local brew while you stroll around and take in all the amazing animals.
P.S. you can get dole whip here!
A great idea for a rainy day!
Meow Wolf takes its visitors in a different dimension!
Voted as the most beautiful golf course in the state, many golf enthusiasts say it's a must.
Joe's favorite local golf course!
This is a great option if you're just wanting to have a good time and not be super competitive!
Take a drive up Lookout Mountain and enjoy the views. At the top you can visit Buffalo Bills gravesite, and grab a quick snack at the concession stand!
You may be lucky to see people hopping off the top to paraglide!
Good beer, beautiful views, and live music? Sign us up! New Terrain is an awesome independently owned brewery in Golden. The atmosphere is super relaxed and they often have events scattered throughout the week. They have food trucks on-site as well! There is trail access right at the brewery to North Table Mountain for hikers and mountain bikers!
We also recommend a stay in Breckenridge! There are abundant options for hotels and AirBnB's. Their Main Street is a fun spot to walk around, take in the scenery of the cute ski town, grab great food, a cup of coffee, or end the evening hanging out enjoying a drink. The gondola's are open free of charge to the public so you can take-in the beautiful views, enjoy lunch at the top, or even take a spin on the mountain coaster! There are so many beautiful hiking trails, fly-fishing spots (there's a few guides in town!), and camping options in this area. Feel free to ask Gina or Joe for recommendations.
Our town's Main Street offers multiple dining options and boutiques to shop around. Enjoy rooftop views, live music, and an overall great atmosphere.
Palenque offers phenomenal Mexican food (and amazing margaritas), View House has a fun rooftop bar area with views of the mountains, The Alley has fun bar eats, drinks, and stellar live music. Head over to Jakes Brew Bar to try a large selection of Colorado Brewed Craft Beers. Grande Station has bottomless drinks and stellar brunch foods!
There are other restaurants there but we mostly recommend these ones!
Whitewater rafting is an adrenaline rush and a ton of fun. The closest town for this would be Idaho Springs, CO.
There are many rafting companies there, do your research and enjoy the thrill!
Tube down Clear Creek on a hot summer day! Start upstream and end at The Golden Mill.
