They met in high school in a 2D animation class. Gio was a sophomore, and Sami was a senior (I know right). After Sami graduated, they kept in touch for about a year but eventually lost contact. Fast forward to June 2021: Gio posted a picture with his freshly bleached hair… except it wasn’t quite blonde—it was yellow (he never toned it) . Sami slid into his DM’s to let him know that and that little message rekindled their friendship. From there, they reconnected like no time had passed. They started playing video games together like Minecraft and eventually planned a casual hangout at the mall. On that first (unofficial) date, Gio bought a Nintendo Switch just so he could play Animal Crossing with Sami. They ended up confessing that they liked each other over a 9 hour discord call while playing games. Less than two weeks later, we were officially together. Four years later, Gio proposed while on a hike next to a waterfall.
