Our Wedding

Our love story started exactly where everyone already knew us individually: the soccer fields—specifically, Tuesday nights at Silverbacks. Giselle had just returned from a month-long missions trip in Antigua, Guatemala, and jumped right back into her usual 7v7 coed league. That first Tuesday back, she was catching up with the regular crew when she noticed a somewhat familiar face hanging around the group. She’d seen Marshal plenty of times before, but they’d never actually spoken. As Giselle shared stories from Guatemala, Marshal lit up with questions. Before they knew it, the rest of the group had drifted away and it was just the two of them, talking nonstop about everything and nothing. When the night ended, they said a casual goodbye, went their separate ways, yet their conversations kept on over text. Two weeks later, what was supposed to be a big friend-group beach trip quietly became our first date. A little while after that, “hanging out” officially turned into dating—and the rest is still being written on those same Silverbacks fields
