Our love story is not much different from everyone else’s. We both thought that our friendship would not turn out to be anything else, but it turned out to be something more. There is one thing love has the power to do and that is bring two people together. In 2019 we decided to further our friendship and begin to write the first page of our love story. And since then, we have shared many smiles and laughter together. Through the toughest times in our lives, we have also leaned on each other and wiped the tears off our faces together; from these experiences we have only become stronger as partners. Throughout the course of our relationship, we had many conversations about marriage, but never thought the proposal would come until one day it did.

On one rainy night, we had plans to go on date but Xavier had stopped and asked me, “Have you ever danced in the rain?” He then proceeded to pick me up to dance and began to play a song called “Perfect.” A few years later Xavier told me he had a surprise and to be ready. We took a drive to our favorite place, Carmel Beach, and upon arrival I was blindfolded. As we are walking through the beach it begins to rain lightly. I hear our song “Perfect” begin to play in the distance. I can feel the sand between my feet and start to dance to our song as it begins to play again. Xavier said it was time to remove the blindfold and he is down on one knee expressing his love for me. He then asked, “Will you marry me?”. I jumped into his arms and heard people around us cheering, realizing that it was both our families! The moment finally happened.

Love will always find a way to win to unite two people together. Through every step of the way God has blessed us to get to the moment we both say, “I do.” We will dance as husband and wife to the sweet-sounding song “Perfect.” We are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together and uniting as one with the people we cherish the most as we start our first chapter as husband and wife. We will continue to write our love story until we take our last breath on Earth.
