Do I need a visa to travel to Brazil?
We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you in beautiful Brazil!
We wanted to share an important update:
As of April 10, 2025, travelers to Brazil will need a visa to enter the country.
If you are planning to join us, please be sure to apply for your visa ahead of time. We recommend starting the process early to avoid any last-minute issues.
We can't wait to celebrate this special moment together and are so grateful you’ll be making the trip!
What's the weather like in June?
June marks the start of winter in Rio, but don't worry—it’s mild compared to winters in the USA! Expect temperatures to range from 65°F (18°C) to 75°F (24°C). Days are generally sunny and dry, making it a comfortable time to explore the city. Pack light layers for evenings and beachwear for daytime adventures!
Is it safe in Rio?
Like any big city, Rio de Janeiro has areas that are safer than others. Tourist-friendly neighborhoods like Copacabana, Ipanema, and Leblon are generally safe, especially during the day. Exercise common sense: avoid flashing valuables, stick to well-lit areas, and use ride-share apps like Uber for transportation. If you're unsure, ask your hotel or us for tips. We want you to have a fun and worry-free trip!
What currency is used in Brazil?
The currency in Brazil is the Brazilian Real (BRL). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's helpful to carry some cash for smaller purchases, like street food or souvenirs. You can exchange money at the airport or use ATMs in reputable locations.
What's a Caipirinha?
A Caipirinha is Brazil's national cocktail! It's a refreshing mix of cachaça (a sugarcane spirit), fresh lime, sugar, and ice. Sweet, tangy, and perfect for sipping on the beach, it's a must-try while you're here. Don’t worry—plenty of non-alcoholic options will also be available at our wedding!
