Around 14 years ago we crossed paths in high school as bystanders. Even though we never spoke to each other we shared a few glances and smiles here and there. That quickly came to an end as I graduated and went off to college and David continued high school and two years later went off to college himself. When we reminisce about stuff we did during and after high school, it turns out we crossed paths a lot more times than we ever realized. Unfortunately, it wasn’t in God’s plan that we connected during those times so we continued our separate journeys.
Fast forward to Agua Caliente Casino 2020. We crossed paths again, at work, as co-workers. It wasn’t love at first sight for either one of us. Our “first” impression wasn’t the best. I thought David was mean and didn’t like me. David thought I was too quiet and a little stuck up. It took David about a week to break the ice and asked, “how are you liking day shift?” I answered with an “I like it”, smiled and walked away.
Shortly after a beautiful friendship flourished and we made an awesome team. We shared so many inside jokes, pranks, a ton of chismes, and the occasional venting. Most importantly we shared precious memories. We became inseparable at work making us the best of friends.
In January 2022, we had our first accidental date due to a mutual friend canceling on us. We had planned to go to Forest Falls and spend the day in the snow. Although we had never hung out just the two of us we decided we both still wanted to go, so we did. It was on that day that we both felt something more than friendship. However, we didn’t want to admit it to ourselves or each other so we continued being friends.
After that day we did everything together. We started to know each other at a deeper level and our love grew. We have so many memories of these silent moments and after about 10 months of this we finally decided it was time to declare our love to the world and made it Instagram official, haha. Since then, our relationship blossomed not only as a couple but as a family.
On October 29, 2023 David popped the question! His proposal was breathtaking and one of the most thoughtful things anyone has ever done for me. He had this magnificent set up (I’ve included pictures) and asked me to be his wife. I was in shock, crying my eyes out, mesmerized by how perfect everything was. I literally had to take a moment to take it all in. David surely outdid himself. I honestly still can’t believe it. I was overwhelmed with emotions, all good of course and I obviously said YESSSS!
Which led us to today, inviting you to join us in the celebration of our love in the form of marriage. We can’t express how excited we are to be able to share this special moment with all of you. We love y'all so much! Thank you for playing a special role in our lives.
Sincerely,
Soon to be Mr. & Mrs. Cancino
