Our Wedding

We met at Wendy's.&nbsp;&nbsp;I got transferred to the store Kirk was working at.&nbsp; We talked as friend's first, but he says he was immediately hooked and honestly, I was too.After a couple months, we started seeing each other and haven't looked back.

How We Met

I had a few initial plans to propose.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The first was during our trip to Europe.&nbsp; We were going to see Neuschwanstein Castle and I thought it might be a great opportunity to pop the question with the castle there. &nbsp;&nbsp;





Then I thought about doing it at Acadia National Park.&nbsp; We have gone a few times and both love it there.&nbsp; I considered doing it in April when they had free passes.&nbsp;&nbsp;





But the ring I got was delivered in February, and like almost any gift I get Glena, once I had it, I got super impatient and just wanted to give it to her.&nbsp;&nbsp;





So I planned a nice day for us so I could ask her.&nbsp; We went to&nbsp;see Black Panther, which was awesome.&nbsp; Then I took her to her favorite restaurant in Portland,&nbsp;Taco Escobar.&nbsp; I had hoped to end the day ice skating at Thompson’s Point, right on the water in Portland.&nbsp; With the lights, being outside and the view, I thought it would be perfect.&nbsp; But it was really cold, so we scratched that part and went home.





Once home, I had committed to asking already and really wanted to.&nbsp; I debated turning on some music and dancing with her before asking, but Chad was home and I didn’t want him to randomly come out in ruin it.&nbsp;&nbsp;





So I said “Glena, can you come in the room?” Once coaxing her inside, I hugged her and&nbsp;got down on one knee.&nbsp;&nbsp;





She was in complete shock.&nbsp;&nbsp;





I said “Glena, will you marry me?” She covered her mouth, said “oh my god” a bunch and I started putting the ring on.&nbsp; I realized she never actually agreed and stopped.&nbsp; “Wait, you didn’t actually say yes.”&nbsp;





"Yes, of course yes," was the response.&nbsp;“I hope it fits.”&nbsp; The ring slid on perfectly.&nbsp; “Oh god” she swooned, putting her hand over her heart.





Nailed it.

7/12/20 Update

Just wanted to take the time to provide a new update.&nbsp; The last we heard from the venue, the state of Maine is only allowing up to 50 people within the barn.&nbsp; If that should remain the case, that's obviously the largest wedding we can have.We have invitations but will be mailing them out slowly.&nbsp; So if you got a save the date but not an invite yet, it's simply because we aren't sure how many people we will be able to have.&nbsp; The barn is hoping in three months they will be allowed to host up to 125 people, but as that's not the case right now, we don't want to plan for that.We hope to be able to mail out invites as soon as possible, especially since many of you will have to make travel plans, but thank you for understanding why that may be a process.
