There we were, two people so perfect for each other yet cities apart. As small as christians circles can be in Richmond and Norfolk, looking back there was no way we would have met through our social connections. We finally did though after Gloria gave into her friend's repeated promptings to try online dating, and David's willingness to try as well. On the first date, a wonderful dinner turned into a pleasant stroll, turned into a bold and accepted hand hold, turned into an interlocking fingers hand hold, turned into David asking Gloria to be his girl friend on Brown's Island a few weeks later. We both realized it was true love when David roamed the streets of D.C. with Gloria and her best friend Dina as she awaited the processing of her same day U.S. passport to return home to the Democratic Republic of Congo to morn the unexpected death of a close family member. We were going to be there for each other, through thick and thin. From there it was truly a matter of time to here, engaged. We now look immediately forward to celebrating our wedding with family and friends, and beyond our wedding to the callings of husband and wife, mother and father, and most importantly the shared calling of christian. We are so thankful to God that he has blessed us with each other. He is the ultimate match maker.
