I am unable to travel overseas but still wish to celebrate with you.

We will be having a casual courthouse ceremony before our Bali Wedding. Family who are unable to travel are encouraged to celebrate with us at this event.

What is the weather like in Bali in May?

May is a prime time to visit Bali during the dry season, you can expect temperatures between 21-31°C with minimal rainfall.

Where should I stay during the wedding?

There are several options available near our venue at price points from $25/night up to $1000/night depending on your budget and style. I like to use Booking.com to compare properties- use Pandawa beach as your search term to find properties near the venue.

How do I get around?

Bali has several affordable options for transport. Bluebird Taxi- can hail this on the street, or use Bluebird app to call. Gojek- the Bali version of Uber. You can also use this to order food like Uber Eats. Private Driver- for day trips and pickups from the airport it can be good to arrange a driver, recommendations can be found on Bali Bogans facebook page. Cars should only be a couple of dollars for short trips (and mopeds are cheaper although unsafe and not covered by insurance so we don't recommend using these).

Are children invited?

We would love to celebrate with you and your family especially considering you will be travelling to come! Children will be invited to both the ceremony and the reception. However, as our reception will have more of a 'party vibe' and we want you to enjoy the night we will have nannies set up in the kid's playroom in the villa equipped with games and toys.

What is beachy cocktail attire?

We know that it will be hot and we want you to be comfortable and have fun (while of course looking great). If you need some ideas read below: Women (or whoever) - Bright and colourful dresses or sets! - Shoes you can dance in (we won't be on sand so heels are fine but there may be grass). - A touch of pink is encouraged! Men (or whoever) - Linen shirts/pants - Linen suits - Boat shoes - Tie not necessary - A touch of pink encouraged

How do I avoid getting Bali Belly?

What people often call Bali Belly, is actually travellers' diarrhea, often caused by bacterium like e-coli in the water and environment. To avoid your holiday being ruined by illness, please take the following precautions. - DO NOT DRINK THE TAP WATER This includes not brushing your teeth with water from the tap, or getting water in your mouth when you shower. Back in the day travellers to Bali were warned to not accept ice in drinks due to contamination, however these days ice is regulated and nearly restaurants use store bought filtered ice (if you are in doubt refuse ice or ask). - WASH YOUR HANDS/ USE SANITISER Especially after handling money make sure to clean your hands before eating or touching your face. The money is often dirty and many people get sick from not sanitising after touching it. - DINE IN REPUTABLE RESTAURANTS Avoid Warungs and local street food, although delicious foreigners do not have the gut-biome to deal with the lower hygiene practices. Most restaurants in tourists areas will be more than fine, if you're not sure check reviews online. - TAKE COLLUSTRUM Collustrum is the key ingredient in medications like Travelan (for travellers' diarrhea), however you can buy generic Collustrum supplements. You take a tablet prior to eating, which can help aid your gut. Also handy to pack some Gastro-stop just in case. If you do get sick there are doctors on the island who can be called to your hotel for a small fee and provide medications and injections to help you get better within a couple days so you don't have to spend your trip in bed!
