Our Story

The Future Harrisons

In December 2016, while both home from college for Christmas break and in the city with close friends, Grace & I met at one of Boston’s classiest establishments; West End Johnnies. I insisted that the two of us become a couple on the spot...to no avail.

As we returned to our respective colleges, Ohio State and Colgate, we continued to get to know one another via text and phone calls. After many months of chatting & a close mutual friend discovery, we planned to meet up a year later in December of 2017 in Duxbury. Again, while we were both home for Christmas. The spark was no different from our first encounter, but distance continued to be a nuisance.

The following year, I was pursuing a professional Hockey career in South Carolina while Grace was a superstar Mammography Tech in Ohio.

The urge to continue to talk and form a bond was always strong. We had a couple more meet ups when we could, always in the summer or winter when we were home for short periods of time. The most important, however, was December 30th of 2018, when we decided to make our relationship official at a local watering hole in Duxbury.

We signed up for long distance and we knew it would be the ultimate test. Grace made the engine run. She frequently visited me in SC and always made sacrifices in order for us. I knew I had a keeper!

Grace eventually moved to Boston in 2019. We shared eventful beach-filled summers together and throughout Hockey season, Grace continued to make frequent trips to SC.

After hanging up the skates and moving to Boston in 2021, it was finally time for the long distance test to be over with. We moved into our first apartment together in East Boston, where we are still currently living. Soon after, we adopted our beloved doggo, Goose!

We went from long distance to being able to enjoy an apartment together, as a little family. We take advantage of city living as we enjoy frequent walks with Goose, devouring newly discovered restaurants, and being so close to friends and family. The simplicity of down-time from our busy work lives is where Grace and I are most happy. A night-in trying a new recipe, a workout in the gym together, or a peaceful Saturday morning with a cup of coffee and a great conversation always centers us.

Our friends and family (you) are a crucial part of our lives and part of our story in one way, shape, or form. We look forward to celebrating our love story with each and every one of you.
