Michael proposed to Grace during their family camping trip to Bear River August 12, 2023. He made sure her parents made it to the trip after asking her father a few months before. Michael dreamed about proposing to his future wife at this location. His dad took him there every summer since he was a kid, so he always envisioned it.

The year prior, he had taken Grace there for the first time with his family. The first night they ended up getting rained on and waking up in the middle of the night to take cover. Regardless of their first camping experience with weather issues, camping sort of became their thing.

The one funny thing they found is that every single camping trip they went on it rained. They even camped in a desert in the beginning of summer and there was a severe thunderstorm that locals said was not normal. It became a funny thing that they would always prepare for on their trips.

So after Michael got down on one knee and popped the question, they took a slow stroll back to the campground. Suddenly, it started raining and they just looked at each other and laughed. It had been sunny all day and they were both even burnt!

Michael says he chose the ring he did, not only because it was similar to what he knew Grace would like, but because it reminded him of a raindrop.
