Our Story

The Story of us told by Meagan Biggerman

Holden and Grace first met in 6th grade at church; however, this is not exactly where their story begins. Grace thought Holden was very annoying at the time and instead wanted to hang out with his much cooler older sister, so she had to get used to being around him. Some time later at church, there was a young adults group that had been started so they began to spend more time together. It was at a Friendsgiving where Holden’s feelings truly began. This was where he saw that she was able to cook and looked great doing it. The pair began to talk more and grow closer.

Flash forward a couple months to February 2022, the two went on their first date to Olive Garden. Holden picked Grace up from her home, a gentleman as always. At this first date not only did they get the exact same items for dinner, it was here where Holden told Grace about how when penguins find their life mate, they will give the other a rock as a gift. As they were leaving dinner, Grace took a rock from the Olive Garden flower bed and gave it to Holden. Holden still has that rock to this day. About a week later, after a movie date with Holden’s family, he officially asked her to be his girlfriend. Grace said yes and dramatically, kicked up her foot and kissed Holden on the cheek. I can attest that this happened as I was Holden’s ride that night so I was sitting in the car when it took place.

Time went on and the two continued to grow closer to one another. Engagement and marriage came up more and more in conversations with both the pair and others. After many more conversations and lots of prayer, they knew it was time to take the next step. Holden asked Grace’s parents for their blessing in a heartfelt conversation where all parties involved cried. Our groom had planned it all out, he brought Grace breakfast and flowers the morning of and had arranged a fun date where they handmade pottery at a local coffee shop. He also involved two of Grace’s closest friends, Jess and Ellie, to help set up and photograph the big moment at Devil’s Nose (a local hiking spot). The time came and Grace had noticed that Holden was a bit more nervous than usual so the two prayed moments before the hike began. At last, all of Holden’s planning had come to a great crescendo and he asked for her to be his wife. She said yes!

Many months have gone by now and the two have gone through job changes, loss of loved ones, and the development of new friendships. In their free time, the couple enjoy spending time together at coffee shops, thrifting, reading, spending time with friends and family, and preparing to learn how to do life together. Grace and Holden are so excited to spend the rest of their lives growing in their love for each other and the Lord. I'm sure the couple is so excited to have you all there to support them on their big day and the rest of their lives. I cannot wait to see it all unfold on June 28th. Thank you for reading their story.
