We actually used to work together! It was years ago, and at the time we were just friends. After I left, I was sure to add several of my coworkers on social media so we could stay in touch. Noah was one of them!
Fast-forward a few years, he reconnected with me for my birthday. I didn't have any plans besides work, so he offered to take me out somewhere fun to celebrate. We went bowling, had dinner, and from then on, he's been stuck with me!
It's odd to me how we met through circumstance, reconnected on a whim, and yet he has become my best and closest friend! I'm thankful for him each and everyday 😊
It happened last December. We unexpectedly got 2 weeks of vacation time, so Noah and I decided to plan a little getaway for ourselves. We booked an Airbnb in a small town about 30 minutes north of Nashville.
After settling in, getting used to our surroundings, and acquainting ourselves with our host, we decided to explore the hiking trails provided on the 100 acre Airbnb property.
About an hour in, we got to a ridge in the woods that had a trail off to one side and an extensive grove of beech trees along the other. We both noticed that these trees were different from the others; their leaves that had this pretty light-peach hue to them instead of the normal browns and oranges. We stopped and enjoyed the scenery for a while.
As I asked Noah if we should continue on in order to stay out of the forecasted afternoon showers, he stopped me and said we should just enjoy the view for a while.
After a few minutes of almost peaceful silence (interrupted by me researching beech trees and remarking on what Wikipedia had to say about them) Noah dropped to one knee and proposed! And now we're here
NOTE: The photo on our cover page of the wedding website is actually from that grove and trail where Noah proposed!
