With this small town of 1,504 people, Grace didn't even know Madison MN existed until the fall of 2022. She bought a little blue house just 2.5 blocks away from her soon-to-be husband that she never imagined she'd find there. Winter of 2023, Grace began attending kickboxing classes with Next Gear Performance, a company began by Zach Gearman, who is a lifelong buddy of Jake's. Grace noticed Jake when he'd be finishing weightlifting and she'd be waiting for class to start, or see Jake come in for jiujitsu after her class.

Jake took a notice to Grace too, but they didn't begin interacting until February when he asked her on a dinner date. Actually, he didn't ask...he gave her the option of tacos or sushi and said we're going.

The rest of the relationship proceeded fairly quickly, both of them wanting the same things - and most importantly - each other. Life is better together, so they figured why wait to tie the knot?
