Through a long line of distant yet intentional connections, we met at a Bible study our freshman year at Youngstown State University!

We didn't spend much time interacting that fall semester, as someone (John) was often late to the weekly Bible study because they (John) were playing basketball at the Rec Center.

Once spring semester came along, we started getting to know each other a bit better. Gradually, someone (John) was no longer late to Bible study.

We became fast friends and started hanging out on campus together! Not long after...someone (Grace) was sent home due to COVID-19 protocols.

However, we stayed in touch through good ol' technology and video games! We played a lot of Call of Duty Mobile together while talking on Discord, and eventually FaceTime too!

Our first date was smack dab in the middle of COVID season, June 2020. John drove 3 hours to pick up Grace for a downtown Dublin date (awww). We walked up and down multiple streets, had lunch outside, and visited a couple of parks -- finishing with ice cream of course!!

After our first date, we weren't going to let a little bit of distance or a pandemic stop us from hanging out! We went on a few halfway meet-up dates throughout the summer, and on August 18th 2020 John popped the question (boyfriend/girlfriend status)!

We dated for 4 years throughout college. Lots of good stories, amazing friends, a million laughs, and a few cries (Grace is not a fan of bees). On August 18th 2024, John proposed!
