Dom and Grace met in February 2018 at the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, LA where Dom was playing junior hockey and Grace was in school. Dom was being interviewed by Grace's friend and future bridesmaid (Drewclaire Veloff) for a school project. After, the interview Dom approached Grace and asked her for her snapchat, which Grace nervously gave to him. After a weeks of "snapping" and some very romantic dates (bowling, coffee at a church, and Greek food) Dom asked Grace to be his girlfriend. Grace said "Yes".

Dom left Shreveport to play college hockey at UMass-Lowell and Grace went off to Louisiana State University, but they stayed together to try distance.Dom graduated from UMass-Lowell and moved to Huntsville, AL to play minor professional hockey and Grace stayed at LSU to finish her schooling. Finally in 2021 after 4 long years, Grace and Dom beat distance and through all of its ups and downs moved to Huntsville together.

This past Summer Dom proposed to Grace on a vacation in Italy at the Vatican, to which Grace politely accepted.
