Hailing from Los Angeles, Grace matched to the Scott and White Psychiatry Residency Program in Texas and came with the primary goal to work very hard, learn as much as possible then move back to LA immediately...until she met Brian. Brian was born and spent his childhood in Vermont, but attended high school, college and medical school in Texas; therefore, he's pretty much a Texan at heart.

Brian had no interest in dating when residency started because he wanted to focus on work and build healthy habits. He was also worried about dating someone in such a small program and the possibility of the relationship not working out. Grace, however said, "why not!" but they remained friends.

Since there isn't much to do in Temple and most residents are married with kids, we decided to go to Freddy's to get french fries (Grace's favorite food) and ice cream (Brian's favorite food). We ended up talking for hours and realized that not only did we have so many similar interests but also shared similar values, goals, and upbringings.

We began dating on October 15, 2019 and became best friends. We actually didn't realize how much time we spend together until our friend pointed out that they literally spend all day and night together: we work at the same place, offices are literally right next door, hang out after work then get excited to go on adventures or lounge around at home on the weekends together. It's amazing (possibly borderline crazy) that we still feel this way after 3 years.

It's been a huge blessing getting to know each others' families and receiving so much love from both sides. We are so grateful for our lives now and are excited to see what God has in the future for us.
