Dustin and Grace first met in the Army at her first unit, shortly after, they were sent off to Europe for a deployment. They worked together but it was not an office romance, more like a prank war that raged on for months. Part way through this European adventure, Dustin was sent home for training while Grace stayed. It was during this time apart, that they got to know each other. From messages to video calls almost everyday, something special was forming. It wasn't until 4 months later that they finally got to see each other again and Grace took him on an amazing date. Their admiration for each other grew as time went on. They continued to go on dates until she finally got up the nerve to ask him to be her boyfriend. After moving to Des Moines for a job, Dustin was finally closer to Grace as well and they began doing everything together, becoming inseparable. From the late night movie marathons and video game sessions, to road trip adventures in the mountains; these two were enjoying life together and their love for one another grew immensely. Dustin knew she was the one, and after spending every day together for close to a year he decided that he needed to do more. He quickly discovered, however, that designing a ring is not such a simple task. So Dustin swallowed his pride and asked Grace "What kind of engagement rings do you like?". Of course this ruined the complete surprise he was going for, but he still was able to be mysterious and aloof on when and how he planned to propose. Grace, not being one for surprises, was persistent on discovering Dustin's surprise. Much how she always had been when Dustin had a surprise for her. "It would happen in November" is all the more she could get out of him. So of course, every day in November was exciting, and on November 30th, 2022, around midnight, Dustin got down on one knee and asked Grace to marry him.
