Our love story started in Aggieland. Derek and I met out of fate (I would like to think). One night in college we both decided (without knowing each other) to go to the Tap. We each went with different friend groups that night, but we had one friend in common, Cristyn.

Cristyn ran into me on her way back from the bathroom. She only told me one thing, “omg, you are it, I have someone for you to meet!! He is an awesome guy!” Before rejecting her (because who has had a successful set up?) she had me on the other side of the bar meeting Derek! Sure, we talked on and off for the night, and exchanged numbers. Derek asked me on three dates over a month span and I rejected him every time. I mean the last time he asked me on a date, it was to work-out. I mean, who wants to do that on their first date? Eww.

Cristyn ended up calling me at the end of the month and telling me “get over it and say yes!” After saying yes, we went to 40 Tempura on our first date and have never looked back!
