As a testament to the Lord working in very mysterious ways, the beginnings of their story is evidence of this.

Grace and Alex had first met at Ethos church and began coincidentally running into each other at the local gym. While Grace was injured after her most recent marathon, she was cross training and happened to be spending time at the YMCA doing low impact exercises such as swimming and biking. Alex had, for some reason, gotten a wild hair and signed up for his first triathlon ever and was also spending time at the Y doing swimming and biking. What started out as coincidentally being in the same place at the same time, started to become intentionally seeing each other at the same place and same time. The relationship naturally progressed upon a mutual enjoyment of being active in faith, family and fitness. Their first run together, after Grace's injury recovery, occurred on a Greenway in Brentwood. Alex remembers looking over at Grace during a portion of the run and seeing how jovial and radiant Grace was doing what she loves again. So when it came time to propose, it happened in a horse farm pasture alongside the greenway where Grace was smiling on their first run together.
