Our Wedding

Our Early Days We matched on bumble during the pandemic...not once but twice! During our first date, we talked about everything while watching popular Disney movies that Ben had never seen. After a couple of months, Grace decided it was time to say "I love you" but the way she said it did not go the way either of them thought. After a date at our favorite restaurant, Applebees, we made it back home and Grace told Ben, "Well this has been fun... ...." There was a long, long pause, when she finally said "I love you". Our Engagement Story For those of you do not know, Grace is an animal lover and Ben knew he had to incorporate animals into the proposal. Ben set up a private tour that was made to look like a raffle basket prize for Grace. The zoo brought out a penguin, armadillo, the cheetah support dog and a sloth named Sunny. Grace was told that Sunny was being trained and she had to look towards the camera. Meanwhile the zoo staff put up a sign asking if she would marry Ben. Once the photos were over we were supposed to turn around, but Grace looked at the sloth for a total of 3 seconds and tried to move out of the way. She did not see the sign and it took the zoo staff, Ben and the photographer to tell her to "keep looking" until she realized what was happening. See the photo above when she finally realized what was happening. Present Day Since we have been engaged, our lives have changed for the better. We both love our jobs-Ben is a financial manager for the Air Force, while Grace is a first grade teacher at The International School. We have an apartment with 3 guinea pigs, a hamster, a fish and our newest pet dog, Rusty. We are looking forward to celebrating with each and everyone of you. We love you and can't wait to see you!

Our Story

"My sophomore year of college this animal loving, bubbly, slightly terrified freshman named Grace joined the golf team. After spending a 13-hour drive--what can only be described as--cuddling, in the back seat of a van, and Grace declaring every species of plant and animal she sees out the window...I had a strong feeling that this person would become a very important friend in my life. And the rest - as they say- is history...from teammates, to roommates, to friends, to sisters."

"I met Ben through our mutual friend, Dominick, and we started hanging out casually—parties, food challenges, random drives. Things got closer at Wright State, where we bonded over Friday traditions like spinning wheels to pick food or outfits. A few years later, over wings at BW3s, Ben told me, “I’m talking to a girl named Grace.” From that moment on, they were inseparable. Whether it was dinners, white water rafting, Walmart runs, or casino trips, I was/am 3rd wheeling. And while Ben had his lucky wins at the casino, proposing to Grace was his biggest jackpot of all."

"Grace and I met in math class during sophomore year of high school. She didn't know that I didn't have friends at the time, and she asked if I wanted to be her friend. From then on, Grace has been such a radiant light in my life, and she has shown me what it's like for a friend to become family. Grace and Ben only gave me five sentences here to sum everything up, so I’ll wrap it up with this: if you want the longer and better stories, I will tell you everything you want to know at the reception.”

"Grace and I became friends through various education classes while at Ohio Wesleyan. We actually had several classes that we shared throughout those four years, but did not become friends until our senior year. Whenever I think of Grace, I am reminded of her immense kindness she displays to everyone she encounters and her hilarious senes of humor. From becoming teachers together and sharing so many zoo memories, to many nights lighting the candle in her apartment kitchen in college- I am so glad to consider her one of my closest friends. I am beyond thrilled for Grace and Ben as they embark on this beautiful journey together- seeing them get married fills my heart with so much joy!"

We grew up in the same neighborhood, spent every summer together, went to high school and Wright State College, and carpooled to campus for both our Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Now, we both work at WPAFB just next door to each other. Over the years, we've shared countless memories, but my favorite ones are with Grace.
