Sam and Grace’s story began in Airlie Beach Queensland, in February 2020. Sam had just moved there for work, while Grace had recently made the move after finishing school. They were both in a new town, ready to start fresh, and as fate would have it, their paths crossed with a swipe on Tinder.

Their first date wasn’t exactly fireworks. It was just your usual first date vibes: drive to a lookout, share a pizza, and some pretty dull conversation. To top it off, Grace ordered a tropical pizza only to discover mid-date that Sam hates pineapple on pizza and wouldn’t eat any. All in all, quite an average Tinder date… but destiny clearly had bigger plans.

The very next night, fate stepped in. Grace managed to break her ankle while out in town. At 3am she called Sam on Snapchat for help (they hadn’t even exchanged numbers). Without hesitation he came to the rescue. He was her knight in shining armour. From that moment they were inseparable.

Just as their story was unfolding COVID arrived and Grace moved to Brisbane for a while. It didn’t take long for her to realise that something was missing, and that something was Sam. She moved back to Airlie where they lived in a resort together. Life was filled with sunshine, laughter, and adventure, including one of their earliest getaways to Hayman Island.

After a few wonderful years in Airlie, it was time for the next chapter. They packed up and moved to Brisbane, where together they’ve built an amazing life filled with everlasting memories; travelling across Europe, buying their first home, going on so many holidays, and welcoming their beloved cat Leon, who instantly became the heart of their home. One of the most special memories of all came when Sam proposed to Grace after a sunset picnic in Sydney, overlooking the city and the Harbour Bridge.

Through it all, their love has only grown stronger. Now they’re ready for most exciting adventure yet, marriage. And in the most fitting way possible, they’ll be saying “I do” back where one of their first adventures began on Hayman Island, surrounded by the people they love most. What started as an awkward date over a tropical pizza has turned into a beautiful tropical wedding, where they’ll begin the next chapter of their lives.
