Colton and Grace met in college at Appalachian State University. Colton was finishing up his last semester and Grace was just beginning her college career.

Being at the right place, at the wrong time seemed to be a common reoccurrence. They had mutual friends and attended the same events but missed each other by a slim chance. Eventually, paths crossed and they connected! After a few fruitful conversations, Colton asked Grace to go on a date when they returned from winter break. The day finally came, but unluckily, due to some car troubles on Coltons end, the date was postponed. Grace thought this was Coltons way of letting her down easy, but boy was she wrong! After some time, the two finally got together and immediately hit it off.

Unfortunately, COVID hit and their last semester was cut short. Even though they were physically separated, it didnt stop them from progressing their undeniable connection. If anything, this was the time to slowly let things fizzle out if they didnt want to pursue anything further, but the exact opposite happened. They found that absence truly makes the heart grow fonder. On March 19th, 2020, Colton asked Grace to be his girlfriend. This was a no-brainer for Grace. Since then, these two have been inseparable.

Later in May, Colton finished up his last semester of college online and they watched his graduation ceremony on Graces laptop at her parents house in Greenville. Although this form of a graduation ceremony was unorthodox for them, it was nonetheless special. Colton stayed in Boone with Grace for the next 3 years until she finished her last year of college in May of 2023. Come June 2023, Colton took Grace to Caldwell Community College, a well-known sunset overlook in Boone. Here, they had a nice picnic and watched as the sun set over the mountains. He took pictures of her and had her spin around to capture candid shots. In the last picture, he had her face the sunset. When she turned around, to her surprise, he was on one knee! Colton proposed to Grace on June 14th, 2023! This was by far the easiest Yes for Grace. To further the surprise even more, his mom and sister, Julie and Jordan, were hiding in a car just around the corner taking pictures of them. After a few Facetime calls and social media posts, the word was out--- these two were getting MARRIED!

Colton and Grace now live with their cat Gil!
